A Journey in Colour and Form

My Art Journey
I picked up a pencil in 2022, unsure of where it might lead— only knowing I needed to try. I enrolled in Drawing for the Terrified Beginner, an adult class at a small Toronto art school (Artbarn School), and there, something quietly awakened. I returned for their intermediate course a year later, and with each lesson, my hand grew steadier, with my vision clearer
What began with pencil and coloured pencil became a way to translate feeling into form. These works mark the steps I have taken — tentative at first, but always reaching toward something true
This portfolio holds not just art, but the unfolding of growth, curiosity and courage.
Here you’ll find some of my earliest work — many created as studies during art class, others born from quiet self-led

Art Portfolio
by Henrietta
This collection brings together my explorations in watercolours, pencil colours, pens, and pastels. Each medium carries its voice: the fluid transparency of watercolour, the quiet precision of colored pencils, the bold clarity of ink, and the soft textures of pastel.
Together, they form a body of work rooted in curiosity — where everyday patterns, observations, and emotions are translated into colour and form. This portfolio is both an archive of experiments and a reflection of how I see the world: layered, textured, and always in motion.
